FDRA : Footwear Distributors and Retailers of America
FDRA was the first and remains the only trade organization focused solely on the footwear industry.
Founded in 1944, FDRA represents the entire footwear industry from small family owned footwear businesses to global footwear companies. It also serves the full supply chain of the footwear industry from research, design and development, to manufacturing and distribution, to retailers selling to global consumers.
In all, FDRA supports over 130 companies and 250 brands, or 80% of total U.S. footwear sales, making it the largest and most respected American footwear trade association.
In the 70-plus year history of the association, FDRA has supported the footwear industry as its business intelligence hub and voice in Washington, DC and around the globe.
FDRA provides its members with information on retail and consumer trends, sourcing and compliance, product safety, intellectual property, customs, and many other issues to help boost companies’ business. Situated between the White House and the U.S. Capitol, FDRA also advocates for fair taxation and commonsense regulations governing our industry.
FDRA’s mission is simple:
1. FDRA is the footwear industry’s business intelligence hub – keeping its members up-to-date on important regulatory changes and its effect on their business.
2. FDRA is the footwear industry’s thought leader – finding innovative solutions to a range of challenges impacting the footwear industry from sourcing to product safety regulations.
3. FDRA is the footwear industry’s advocate and voice in Washington, DC and around the globe – pushing for the elimination of footwear tariffs that drive up costs and common-sense regulations impacting the industry.
