…Continued from Part-6

Ex: Finding the norms for the upper with the following data using Russ & Small method..

            Model size=7, leather: Calf (brown), Area Discrepancy : 0.98, Shoe type: Medium Men, Order size: 6/50, 7/150, 8/100, 9/500, 10/200., Leather issued=24.7 sq.ft (A grade), 185 sq.ft ( B grade), Average skin area=10 sq.ft.( Use tables for calculations)

* Average size is calculated as, assume the below case

Sizes 6 7 8 9 10 Total
Pairs 50 150 100 500 200 1000

Sizes*pairs = (6X50+7X150+8X100+9×500+10×200)

Weighed average size = Σ Sizes*pairs/ Σ Pairs    = (6X50+7X150+8X100+9×500+10×200)/ 1000 = 8.65 ~ 9

So nearest size is 9
